What are you using for a reservoir? My father has a tidal stream on his property and a standard water wheel wouldn't spin fast enough...

@abuthemagician At the top of the intake there is a small pool in the creek with approximately 250 liters of water, which gives about 2 minutes of run time with the valve fully open. This isn't a problem in spring and fall when there is lots of water coming down the creek, but in the dry summer the system empties the pool quickly. I have plans to create an auto open/close system to keep from draining the pool.

Brilliant!
What type of current can that maintain? When there is load on the alternator, how much does it slow down?

@CrispinProctor69 I have not run the system under load yet. On my next trip to the cabin I plan to bring the charge controller & battery bank to give the system a real-world test. I will post the results on the project page as well as another video.
