I have an interpretation of this song typed out on a cover of this (Vocaloid cover, to rule it out)
-
@LuciaMalpense It's usually because "boku" is more gender-ambiguous than other "atashi/watashi," and fits in songs much more nicely. "Boku" can be used by girls, but it traditionally isn't, because it's more so used by girls who don't see themselves as truly feminine. However, it's very informal as well, even for boys.
Also, from what I've heard, wowaka seems to strive more for aesthetically-pleasing lyrics than lyrics with clear meaning, so "boku" sounds cleaner, having two syllables.

@XxMadHatNinjaxX Reza is voice training to hit the high notes as you speak. And he has released a couple of CDs
-
@Kamberlyn Why do almost all of Wowaka's songs fit me? out of all the ones I've heard, only one interpretation of Two Faced Lovers doesn't fit
-
@NerushiMotsu21 Well technically 'boku' is often used for girls in songs, just because 'boku' is two syllables and 'watashi'/'atashi' is three respectively...

wowakas videos are alway like gray and white...

This song, according to wowaka, is about how Miku, or a boy ( since the song refers to 'boku' as 'I' ) does not want people to be troubled by his problems. 'Standing in your way' can also be 'this is off limits'. 'Hiding away' can be referred to 'play hide and seek'. In this case, he feels humiliated to show himself hence 'do not look at me'. Perhaps he's waiting for someone to actually comfort him, also it works with the beginning, 'I'm waiting for you'.

I love how upbeat this song is. Miku's voice is tuned beautifully, too. Thanks for the sub!
