This is a project that I worked on for a TV show. It's using a special UQM PowerPhase BLDC motor that is capable of 225kw and around 700ft-lbs of torque. I built the control system and did all the electronics integration.

Finally something you can do a burnout in without getting the cops attention haha. This is awesome though I'd love to build an electric hot rod, I just don't know how yet. Any good books or websites that will get me started?

@Nintendy123 Personaly, I prefer have a the great sound of a V8 for cruising... So that's true it's a great invention, I am for hybrid and electric cars on the roads and in the cities, but I am one of those who love "real" motors and sounds...

@djpiero81 Take this for an example- a old car is loud but.. slow and weak. do you like that? this guy who make the electric hot rod.. is a great invention. it creates lesser pollution.. AND....Runs fast.

@djpiero81 Hot rods are about innovation, creativity, speed. Loud doesn't equal heart. Lack of individuality and original thought does means lack of heart.
