Hands on review of the sleek and rather beautiful Nokia Lumia 800, running Windows Phone 7.5. Can the sheer elegance of the design match the raw power of competing smartphones like the iPhone?
Great vid Steve.. you swayed me and I got one to replace my HD7 its a very nice slick well put together package. I have all platforms apart from Meego but I amm really impressed with the ease of use of Mango on tthis device.
@mkr10001 Microsoft ain't Apple. Frankly just because Apple does isn't a reason to spend my hard earned dollars. I demand the most from my technology and Microsoft doesn't provide that.
@thelinuxfag yeah i realised that knob cheese but those being your reasons for microsoft dropping the ball make no sense because its working pretty well for apple..
I like the idea of Windows Phone but is too limiting you can't run native desktop type apps, limited micro sd support, no app sideloading, and no stylus support. Windows Mobile 6.5 while perfect had mostly everything I need and now microsoft dropped the ball with Windows Phone 7. So I will be with Android till something more versatile comes along.
Thank you Steve. Good show once again. Could'nt agree more on your views of the Nokia 800. I am still happy with my Nokia N8. I just can't give up the camera. Hate Symbian Anna, but I only wish that the rumored Nokia 900 is a Windows Phone 4 inch camera flagship running Mango. That will surely be my next phone. Until then, will shuffle between my iPhone 4S and Nokia N8. Happy holidays and look forward to Phones Show 157's Top 5 feature! Regards to Tim, Rafe, Kev, Julie, John, Nick and the crew!
@irgendwerjoker That's undeniably true. I wish that Microsoft would have marked independence instead of going entirely in Apples footsteps when it comes to the lack of openess and filesharing etc, and therefore not creating diversity in the market. Missing the whole point of existing at all. Sort of like a hypocritical politician that only wants to get votes rather then contributing with something useful.
why phones are again getting so big, i do not wanna big stuff like this
