....and isn't that Alison Krauss in the background playing some 'blues fiddle'? Crazy sh*t! - although not so crazy I suppose when you realise how interlinked bluegrass and blues are. Love this - and love that tuning. Thnks for the tip piptaylor99.

James Blood Ulmer is one of my favorite musicians. He's remaking the Blues for the 21st century and he was doing it in the 1980s! I saw that incredible band with Amin Ali (the great drummer Rasheid Ali's son) and G. Calvin Weston in 1981...I'll never forget it. The tune "Timeless" is one of the most rhythmically fierce peices of music to emerge from the 1980s.

Amazing! Been a Blood Ulmer fan since the 70's, and this is one more piece of sublime music this man creates. Magic. Reaches into one of the many beating hearts of the blues and shows us all. This is a pretty interesting DVD, too. Thanks for posting SliperyTunaFish.

Just tune yours to AAAAAE low to top. A unison drone tuning that he uses and you will get close.

Good luck and enjoy

Actually, it's "ARE YOU GLAD TO BE IN AMERICA". I love it, but personally prefer "Black Rock". I have and treasure both on vynyl. Black Rock has Amin Ali on Bass (Ornette's nephew, I think). It is fantastic! Take care....
