Negativity sells. That's the best explanation I can give. If there was an interview about how good MJ was (which would take up faaaaaaaaaar too much time and wouldn't cause a "Shock" value), apparently the public won't like it. So they make it negative to destroy MJ so they can get more ratings, more talk, and, at the root of it all, more money.
