@magna59 Yes, a contractor, on land he`s renting. Last years yield came to about four point five tonnes, all the tonnage is up this year despite it being a wetter year,(and getting wetter as we speak)- we`ve still got about seventy acres of oats to cut so fingers crossed!

So was this a contractor ? Or is this the farms own machinery ? How did this years tonnage ( tonne or ton ) compair with last ? I would have thought even in Waterford this was a wetter year ?

@magna59 Thanks, the straw is baled and sold to local farmers, the yield came to just over five tons to the acre.

Nice footage......When is August ? Shame the base looks soo green, what were they doing with their straw ? Any idea of the tonnage ?
