NASA's restored video showing Neil Armstrong's first moonwalk

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Apollo 11, NASA released partially restored video of a series of 15 memorable moments from the July 20 moonwalk. This video shows Neil Armstrong making his way to the lunar surface, by climbing down the lunar module ladder.

If all this was bullshit why didn't the Russians say anything?????

Tthey were monitoring the landings very closely...this would have been a real coo for them during the cold war, but they didn't say anything, why?? because they did land end of fucking story. Honestly I think it's good to be skeptical and patriotic to question your government but there needs to be evidence and good reason and sound minds to back it up not ramblings from idiots.

@mrcomedy454 its because it is filmed through a camera. A camera has something called exposure. If there is a really bright object like an astronauts in the foreground the background will be black. That is also the case today when you see footage from the International Space Station and space shuttle you still dont see any stars.

@dangkoen we haven't returned because no one has yet developed a method that isn't incredibly expensive, and the Cold War justification is gone. The perception of unjustifiable expense caused Apollo 18, 19, and 20 to be cancelled even though the hardware was already built. This may have been perceived as saving money but in hindsight they only saved a few tens of million of dollars of incremental expense of flying that hardware.

@dangkoen - At the risk of sounding like a wack job - a few of the Astronauts have indeed been heard from - and it's some astonishing stuff. Look up Edwin Mitchell, Gordon Cooper, Buzz Aldrin for starters, and then there's plenty of retired Military, Pilots, etc, people that are about as upstanding as you can get...it's where my skeptical self started and now...just WOW. :-)
