Great technique.

A big detail is getting your hips out and aimed in another direction. You use your "swinging" leg and swing it in a pendulum motion to create momentum to move your hips out. This is why we (Pedro Sauer Associations) have always called it a pendulum sweep. Check this vid youtube.com/watch?v=NWFrUlCvNL

@leralon yes but it is no doubt more difficult the bigger they get.

but basically if he postures up and ends up essentially sitting on ur underhooked arm, thats still fine just make sure to trap his wrist with ur other hand (in the case of this video, ur left hand so he cant post out) then just lift ur hips high to around his chest level (nipple height) and use ur legs to build momentum and turn. again check out the video on the TFW site.

the game is all what ifs, its always the most ridiculous question, what if.. what if he ate his spinach and he uses his popeye strength? to stop everything u try.. jiujitsu is all what if, then u what if, then he what ifs..
but to answer ur question there is a great video on the trainfightwinDOTcom website under high percentage grappling called the pendulum sweep.

was Christopher Columbus first person to do this.

Hey TechniquePrevails, this has nothing to do with sweeps, but which submission is easiest to perform on a person much bigger than you are and will make them tap? Like, when I go for a triangle choke on someone much bigger than me, they will simple lift me up and break the hold or slam me back down. So, which move is easiest to make a bigger opponent tap? thx
do these sweeps work if your a bit smaller than your opponents because it doesnt seem like they do

@leralon They absolutely do. Jiu-Jitsu was developed specifically for that purpose. Technique is key!
