I'm a fairly liberal guy, but I absolutely love 24! You don't have to be a right-wing neocon to enjoy 24.

Rush is a douche bag for politicizing everything. I'm not surprised he asked Mary Lynn how her Hollywood pals react to her being on a "pro-America" show, as if liberals can't be pro-America. In my opinion, Rush is anti-America for all of the lies, distortions, and personal attacks he resorts to on a daily basis. He's scum, and I love that Mary Lynn replied that she loves America.

@shelton705 Not true love him or hate him Rush is proven to say the truth almost 100 percent of the time. Perhaps it is simply the facts you dislike......When called on issues he has re played what he did say, to prove the distortion that is done to him all the time. I listen to everyone and all sides from the US news to the EU news, And it is amazing the attacks by Liberals on anyone that does not agree with them.

You say that conservatives are never ashamed of their country, so how do you explain the tea party? They seem pretty ashamed of their government to me. How is that any different from liberals that were ashamed of Bush and the Republicans in Congress? Liberals and conservatives believe in different philosophies, but both sides are often disillusioned with the government.

What's intelligent about generalities? You said liberals are NEVER pro-America. I'm a liberal and I'm pro-America. So tell me again, how is that an intelligent statement? Just because liberals and conservatives don't always agree on what's best for the country doesn't mean either side is unAmerican. Generalities exist to keep Americans divided, but life is a lot more gray than people make it out to be.

@shelton705 intelligent people can talk in generalities without having to keep saying "well, not everyone of course....." And I can say as a group I find liberals to be at best neutral but rarely pro-USA while Conservatives are as a group never ashamed of their country.

The problem with people like you and Rush is that you play on stereotypes. I would never say conservatives are anti-American simply because they don't share my views. Also, not all conservatives are the same just like not all liberals are the same. You need to look past the labels and steretoypes, and judge people as individuals.

I mean, it is not as if he goes in public and says the other side wants dirty air; dirty water; and no taxes for the rich like your boy Obama does on a daily basis.

@JangoFett07 I can almost agree w/this, but I wish there was a disclaimer at the beginning that the "ticking time bomb" scenario rarely(if ever) happens in real life. This basic justification for torture/killing/crushing the constitution is 24's underlying premise, and I think has been a tool for the national security demagogues to use in furthering the idea that safety and principled intelligence activities must always be at odds. They aren't, and in fact the one usually comes with the other.

The genius of 24 is that it ISN'T political. there are left wing AND right wing things all over the place in it. Cause that's fucking life. It's all gray. Jack simply does what he does to save lives, and doesn't care about people's feelings or how it'll look in the media. I'm a liberal, and I love 24 for that reason. It doesn't pander to anyone.
