Finding a new routine and sticking to it is harder than it seems. There's something trying to trip you up and it usually succeeds a couple times. But when you get the hang of it, you're unstoppable.

Nick and Keri decided to take a walk around the village. Abigail and I offered to take care of Rose while they went away. I could see that it hurt Keri to be away from her baby but Nick convinced her that we would take good care of her. I was now sitting on the couch while Abigail fed Rose.
I watched as Abigail treated Nick and Keri's baby with the utmost care, like she was her own. They were both adorable. "You really want a baby of your own, don't you?"
She looked up at me and had the brightest smile on her face. "I would love to have a baby and we will one day, right?"
"Of course, Abigail. You know I would love to have a child of my own." I put my arm around her shoulders.
"Joe, do you think this is right?"
"What is, sweetheart?"
"Us running away like this. What are your parents going to think when they find out that neither of us are there?"
I looked down. "I really don't care of what they think. I just want to be with you, Abigail. My parents are not going to stop us."
"Are you sure this is what you want, Joe? Are you sure that you'll really be happy marrying me and us living here in poverty?"
"As long as I'm with you, I am as happy as can be."
"But what about getting everything you want? I know you probably want to have the riches and the beautiful castle to live in."
"I guess I do but I would much rather be with you, Abigail. I want us to be happy and happiness can't be bought. I love you." I kissed her cheek and she smiled.
Nick and Keri came back after a while and Keri could not have been more rejoiced to be back with her baby. They thanked us for looking over her and we all sat down. We started talking about nothing and practically everything. They were such a sweet couple. I grabbed Abigail's hand.
We were all having a great time until there was a knock at the door. Jonathan stood up and opened the door. I almost choked when I heard those two familiar voices. Oh no. What were they doing here? I stood up and walked to the door to see my parents standing in the doorway.
They were more than angry. I was scared. Jonathan went back inside and I walked out and shut the door behind me. I turned to my angry parents and waited for them to blow up on me. This was not going to be pretty. "Hello, mother and father." They looked even madder than before. This was bad, really bad.
My mother took a deep breath. "Joseph, I am going to try and be calm about this. What are you thinking? What possible thought could have passed in your head to lead you to do something like this?"
"Love," I simply responded.
"No, you mean that peasant of yours. She did this to you, didn't she? She made you run away from your home just for her own pleasure. Don't you see, Joseph? She wants to ruin us."
"Believe me, you've ruined us enough to last another century."
"Don't speak to your mother that way. What are you doing here, son? How could you leave in the middle of the night like that? And you left with all of your things. What does this mean?"
"It means that I'm not coming back. I'm staying here with Abigail and we are going to live here."
"How can you do this to us, Joseph? To me? I've raised you better than this."
I slightly chuckled. "Raised me better? You always thought Kevin would be the perfect son and when he finds the one he loves, you won't let him. I'm going to be just like him. You are not holding me back."
"Don't you think losing your brother hurt us too? We were devastated."
"You should have been. You were the ones who killed him. Now please leave. I want to be happy and you telling me that I shouldn't be with the girl I truly love only makes me angry."
I re-entered the house and closed the door. Everyone was staring at me. Abigail had tears in her eyes and I raised an eyebrow, confused. She ran over to me and threw her arms around me. She hugged me tight and I put my arms around her. She pulled away and quickly kissed me. "We heard everything."
My eyes widened and everyone nodded in agreement. They all came near me and started hugging me. Each one of them said something special to me. They encouraged me, pronounced their support, and congratulated me. I knew that I had done the right thing and this only made me happier to have done it.
I looked over at Abigail and realized something. The wedding was two weeks away. There was something I needed to do.
