Ernesto Guevara de la Serna (June 14, 1928 -- October 9, 1967), commonly known as Che Guevara or el Che, was an Argentine-born Marxist revolutionary, political figure, and leader of Cuban and proletarian internationalist guerrillas. As a young man, Guevara studied medicine and traveled "rough[›]" throughout Latin America, activities that brought him into direct contact with the poverty in which many lived. Through these experiences he became convinced that only revolution could remedy the region's economic inequality, leading him to study Marxism and become involved in Guatemala's social revolution under President Jacobo Arbenz Guzmán.

Later while in Mexico in 1956, Guevara joined Fidel Castro's revolutionary 26th of July Movement that fought a guerrilla war and ultimately seized power from the regime of the U.S.-supported Cuban dictator General Fulgencio Batista in 1959. For a few months after the success of the Cuban Revolution, Guevara was assigned the role of supreme prosecutor, overseeing the revolutionary tribunals and executions of suspected war criminals associated with the previous regime.

After serving in several important posts in the new government, writing various articles and books about the theory and practice of guerrilla warfare, and touring the world to meet with leaders on behalf of Cuban socialism, Guevara left Cuba in 1965 to foment revolutions, first in Congo-Kinshasa and then in Bolivia, where he was captured in a military operation supported by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the U.S. Army Special Forces. Guevara was summarily executed by the Bolivian Army in the town of La Higuera near Vallegrande on October 9, 1967.




Ο Ερνέστο Γκεβάρα ντε λα Σέρνα (Ernesto Rafael Guevara de la Serna) (14 Ιουνίου1928 στο Ροζάριο, Αργεντινή; † 9 Οκτωβρίου 1967 στη Λα Χιγκέρα, Βολιβία), γνωστός ως Τσε Γκεβάρα, ήταν Αργεντινός γιατρός, Μαρξιστής - Λενινιστής επαναστάτης, ένας από τους αρχηγούς των ανταρτών στην Κούβα και πολιτικός. Συμμετείχε στο κίνημα της 26ης Ιουλίου που πέτυχε την ανατροπή του δικτατορικού καθεστώτος του Φουλχένσιο Μπατίστα στην Κούβα, αρχικά προσφέροντας τις ιατρικές γνώσεις του και αργότερα ως διοικητής των ανταρτών, ενώ υπήρξε μέλος της επαναστατικής κουβανικής κυβέρνησης προωθώντας ριζικές μεταρρυθμίσεις. Το 1965 πιστός στην νίκη της επανάστασης στην Κούβα έφυγε με στόχο την οργάνωση νέων επαναστατικών κινημάτων στο Κονγκό και αργότερα στην Βολιβία, όπου τραυματίστηκε, συνελήφθη και δολοφονήθηκε ενώ ήταν στο κρεβάτι.

@Vincenteloco you don't make sense, education would help. The weak are rising themselves- look at Egypt and Syria. Look what Che and Castro have done for the poor- they are all still poor, and you have not been to Cuba. I have seen the oppression and poor of Cuba. They will not rise up since they don't have TV or internet. Che killed anyone he wanted, people who stood for freedom and liberty and opposed his personal agenda for power and money. Do not live in ignorance and poverty.

@Vincenteloco he was a murderer and executioner was against anyone against his and Fidel ideals. Read about the firing squads in Cuba after the revolution and ran La Cabaña Fortress prison... get educated on who he was and did not represent those that could not speak - that was Mahatma Gandhi
