You do have to hide sometimes, especially when you lose your directions and start running in circles.

Actually sometimes, when they are right on top of you, it is good to hide so you can rest... then battle them again when they pull you back out, otherwise they will just chase you down and kill you, especially if you are lost and need to collect your thoughts.
