Even if they aren't a top 20 band, they will always be a fan favorite with music everyone can dance to. Which, in my opinion, is a much better reward than a #1 spot on the Billboards.

The Bee Gees were talented, no doubt about that, but they are nowhere near the best band. They are not even in the top 20. They are probably somewhere in the top 50. They were a good pop disco band, and that is all they were doing in their limited, and narrow range of music. They had a good 5 year run from about '75 to '80 if you discount their early stuff that was mediocre at best. Top tier bands would be the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Cream, etc.
