The 2nd to last match of day 14 - and it's another fantastic bout!

Undefeated yokozuna Hakuho (13-0) takes on ozeki Kotooshu (8-5) and we're treated to a match as good as the one a year ago when Kotooshu won the May tournament in 2008.

Sorry for the dodgy lighting at the end.

It's funny how often my predictions just before the match turn out wrong. This has been a great tournament for confounding expectations - thrilling stuff!

Enjoy!
-Jason

  • Kotooshu is always so aggressive and such a risk-taker. It often doesn't pay off for him, but I enjoy seeing it work when it does.

  • OH MY GOD!!!!! That is FANTASTIC for Kotooshu!!!! This just re-opened the entire basho. Anyone can win at this point. Like the announcers said "This makes things interesting." Not only was it a great match for Kotooshu, but it was a quick match. You know Asa and Harumafuji is smiling on the inside. Now, lets see who wins between them two. I scared my fiancee who was sleeping behind me on the bed when I yelled "YES!!!" and slammed my fist against my palm when Koto won. LOL!

  • Thanks Jason. Great stuff and another great Victory by Kotooshu. He just needs some more practice and when technique is improved he will carry his opponents out of the Dohio many times :)

  • Hahaha your reaction is amazing

  • Oh wow! That was surprising! I was genuinely shocked, especially after the Harumafuji match.

It could be simply that I only now really understand the sport, but this tournament is proving to be very exciting all-around, moreso than previous ones. Lots of good matches and an exciting bunch of leads.
