@pepsifan231 It is so simple and elegant compared to a conventional autobox. Those things are heavy and unbelievably complicated - have a look at a diagram of one compared to almost any CVT. No planetary gearsets or complex behaviour; just a pair of conical shifting pulleys, a belt and a standard coupling to the flywheel (torque converter/electromagnetic clutch) and wheels. Less (and simpler) parts = cheaper, not more expensive.

If Polaris would use this in all of their ATVs etc they would be the best quad made!

@lainfi888 if it is such a crappy idea than why is it begining to be implemented in all cars. like nissan subaru suzuki audi dodge ford honda is also getting into cvt camry hybrid has a cvt mitsubishi lexus renault

@lainfi888 funny cause I have a 500,000 km warranty on mine, i wonder if that means they are confident with their design and engineers?
@pepsifan231: ever seen how complex a traditional auto transmission is? This is much simpler.

@lainfi888 why does subaru offer a good warranty with their cvt transmission then if they break ever 30K miles?
