BMW GS1200 killer: The Buell ulysses XB12X

The Buell Ulysses XB12X is the best handling dual sport adventure bike available in 2009. The bike in the video is a 2008 25 year aniversary edition fitted with stage one tune (K&N air filter & HP exhaust can. A great handling bike that copes with rough roads as well as touring & generally blatting about.
Buell were shut down by the mother company - Harley Davidson - in 2009. Very sad :(

I purchased my first 2009 Buell XB12XT new in October 2009 in the Dallas, Texas area. Here we are in February 2011 and the odometer reads 19,730. This machine has been so much fun. I love anything from BMW...especially the R1200GS(A) and the R1200RT. You've got to admit though, the Buell XB12X & XT give BMW a serious run for their money. This machine is a keeper!!!

@wbedient I test rode both bikes.. the gs 1200 works just like the uly... if the uly had a 100 lb, $10,000 anvil strapped to it!

The reason it didn't sell is that the clods at most Harley dealers didn't even want them there, didn't push them at all and often hid them in the back... Thankfully my Harley dealer was full of people who could see past a mountain of chrome and actually knew sportbikes, I got 2 uly's and a supermoto zook from them... Go Gateway HD! they sell and service Buells still!

well there is no denying that Buells are perfect but & didn't sell like HD would have liked - but on the road they are a very good machine. The Ducati MS has now taken over the leadership of this class - on the road I mean, IMHO

You must be right because they have stopped making the GS.......oh wait, they stopped making the Buell because it was such a fine selling machine.

I go across fields and down tracks - its best on poor quality roads and we have plenty of them. Loads of fun - which was Erik Buells objective.cheers.

LOVE the title of your video! I always wondered why the Uly gets so little love and the bus BMW calls a motorcyle (GS12000) gets so much attention. Go on any dirt roads over there?
