FLCL is an ok show I guess, it is energetic, true, but still, it must be the most bizzare anime I've seen in my life( I didn't get it... at all, was there even something to get). But it was very funny, and I started listening to The Pillows after watching the show. but i prolly wouldn't recommend it to someone who hasn't seen anime before lol

I have to agree with you on the bizzare thing. They did explain mostly everything about the show in small sections. But still I wouldn't show it to someone that hasn't seen anime, haha.

What people must realize, is that the beauty of anime is not the plot, even though the plot might be important to the understanding of what is going on, but it is the characters and their interaction to the situations that are affecting them that is important. FLCL is a great anime because of the interaction of the characters, not the plot line.

@Syr456 I agree, I wouldn't go as far as to say it was horrible. It had its moments but for the most part it was pretty disappointing and pointless. I get that there was a ton of symbolism but that doesn't matter much if the shows isn't entertaining.

Dude, that ending came so out of nowhere... I just died laughing.

Also, FLCL is my favorite anime of all time. That's about 40% because it got me into anime in the first place, 10% the unbelievable Pillows soundtrack, which manages to be happy and also sad without even saying anything I understand, 5% the gorgeous animation, and 45% because in 6 short half-hour chunks it somehow, amazingly, manages to be about pretty much everything while also masquerading as complete drivel. Amazing.

Plus, many reviewers don't take the time to look for the plot. They just watch and take it at face value when it comes to Furi Kuri. It's essentially a coming of age story.
