Jordan is a machine, but that's all he is.

Undeniably the best keyboard player out of the three, but he absolutely has the least flare. He's just an extremely technical player, nothing more.

The stuff DT recorded with Derek and Kevin is far superior.

DT with Jordan Rudess is very technical but they don't explore his playing enough. Not saying it's Jordan's fault at all (Scenes from a Memory was pretty awesome keyboard-wise), but I don't know how much of a say he has on composition nowadays. Point is DT's keyboards were more prominent and melodical back then with Derek and Kevin.

Jordan is better in a technical sense but Sherinian has so much more feel in his playing. You can hear an obvious Jazz influence in his playing too.

No.... I'm gonna make an assumption that you haven't studied piano thoroughly, if at all. The stuff that Derek plays is fairly simple, although the melodies are interesting and catchy, Jordan is technically lightyears ahead.

Why is everybody comparing Jordan and Derek? It's two totally different worlds...Jordan is a more classical and jazzy type player. Derek is a fusion and more of a metal driven player! (have you heard his solo records? INCREDIBLE!) I think personally they are at about the same level... Both can play the same stuff... I personally like Derek more though because I find his music much more interesting and very unique...Jordan is a little too generic for me...
