Back then, they didn't know that later in the future those 69 & 68 Chargers would be worth tons of mulah one day. They did use parts from 68 Chargers to complete a 69 car...if the 69 had been jumped & a fender or something got messed up, they'd get parts from the 68.

@kenzocs 309 Chargers were used in the Series, 26 in the first movie out of the 309... 19 were left over frrom Filming, there were more, but one went to the film "Forever Young" and an unknown number went to "Gladiator" a 1986 film.. 17 were sold off privately. and I know of a few movie cars that were jumped that were fixed up or being fixed up as I write this and are drivable once again.. the Hemi Lee you see in the 2005 Movie was a series/reunion used car, which recieved the hemi,
