If no lock, mean i can change gear from P without put my foot on brake right? Technician suggests me not to do that.
-
Sounds like a park neutral switch to me
-
its unlocking the gear thingy to move it from park. no big deal..
but in mine it clicks when shifting in the manual mode. only sometimes though... idk if something got stuck underneath or what. anyone else have this problem?
-
With an automatic transmission, a lock is placed onto the "Parked" gear until the brake pedal is pressed. After pressing it, a solenoid will unlatch and let you change gears! That is what you are hearing.
-
Yep, shift interlock
-
hahaha! And I thought I was the only one. Mine too when you press the peddle probably 2 inches and at neutral. It does that but not that loud.
-
mine got louder also, sometimes its loud sometimes its not. Pretty normal.
-
You can probably ask the dealer, but mine does the same thing... not as loud though...
It's hard to tell though because we don't know if your camera's microphone is making it louder or not...
-
My mazda does the same thing, only in a lower sound

that is a normal sound because you have an automatic transmission. To be able to shift from park position, you have to press brake. That's because something locks your shifter and when you press brake, it unlocks your shifter. The sound come from that things that locks and unlocks your shifter.
