  • I think in alot of ways SFB is better than NYCB. I think NYCB is too big, their repertory is too vast and their ballerina's sometimes seem like robots. I love that SFB does a bit of everything - the classics, Balanchine, and more modern pieces. I think the SFB Nutcracker is better than Balanchine's. I hate to say that, but I was bowled over when I saw Tomasson's new Nutcracker last year. It was spectacular.

  • Not better, different I would say. Obviously the focus is on Balanchine at NYCB...why would it be otherwise, it's his invention. Having said that, SFB's Nutcracker is lovely, I just watched it last night.
