  • Now I'm going to watch this again. One of my favorite revolutionary Godard films.

  • work of love / love of work

    (or trying)

main theme for godard in these years...

not a very good film, as far as i remember - montand is not a good target (too flabby) - jean yanne, in "week-end", was much better, i think - maybe it was easier with jean yanne - here, montand's good will makes him a poor adversary, although it's supposed to let a dialectic process begin (i guess...)

I'm sending you a friend request.

  • Jane Fonda is always great....a wonderful actress who deserved all her academy awards and more.

  • I'd love to see this entire film. It's one of the few by Godard that I haven't seen. Jane Fonda's French sounds great. I read in her book "My Life So Far" that she became fluent in it while living in France with Vadim, but wow, she has the accent and everything! This scene has Godard's name written all over it. . .the style, characters addressing the camera, the editing, etc. I love what little I have seen of this here.

  • i love this scene, really. i think it clearly communicates a basic but complicated issue with any relationship, intimate or otherwise.
