"OUHEN" (往返/おうへん), is a short series documenting a trip to Japan I took between August 11th to August 19th, 2007. In only a short week, I met many people, took many risks, and found myself in many problems I hadn't foreseen or planned for. On this episode...

My journey finally comes to an end, and I take some time to recap my last night, and the rest of my journey with the little tape I have left.

I mention my sentiments in the video, but I sincerely appreciate the help and active support I've had with the planning, execution, and conclusion of my trip, (not to mention the production of this "documentary"). To all those that are reading this: May you find you're own quirky trip to travel on, and may you have even a fraction of the good times I've had in the past.

Thanks again to everyone who watched from the beginning to the end, and I hope you all stay tuned for what I may have coming out in the future. Sayounara.

  • I have intended to fill this profile with more videos, but obviously college has taken more and more time out of my schedule since my trip. As I've told everyone else, thanks for the support, and I've VERY glad you enjoyed the series. Have a great trip whenever you end up taking it!

  • awesome stuff, been watching the entire series. im finishing up a 2 month trip here in okinawa. left november 14, coming back january 16. ill post up some videos but they wont have any commentary cause my camera is ghetto

  • With that said, I do have a good solid 5 or 10 minutes of me screwing up on film. I'm sure I'll upload that later, though as I've told other who have asked, I doubt I'll get to anything new before the Holiday season is over.

  • I'm happy the ending turned out as well as I wanted. I think I was pretty fortunate to have known what I wanted the video to "feel" like before I even started the trip, so that when I needed to set myself up for a shot, I could take a quick second and record something, without having to worry about another take.

  • Great ending! I loved watching this video series. It was so refreshing to watch something that was laid back, funny, and had a real variety. Japan is such a beautiful country and your videos have made me even more excited to go back this summer. :D I can't wait to see more interesting videos.

  • Thanks for the compliment, and like I said on the video outside of Nagano, I whole-heartedly loved that bike ride. Completely worth the $6.00 it cost to ride it around for a few hours, even though I really didn't do anything substantial.

That day was so invigorating that even though I had planned to go to Hokkaido on my next trip, I'm most likely going to ride my bike, and not use any other mode of transportation. But then again, that trip is a few years off.

  • Very nice. I love how you ended it. It was so interesting, I REALLY LOVE how you just rode a bike in Nagano. To me that's ten million times better than being in tokyo all day looking at stuff i can't buy. Anyways nice work!
