Veterans - The French in Algeria - 24 Aug 09 - Part 2

France's bloody eight year "guerre sans nom" (war without name) in Algeria ultimately ended in failure with the African nation declaring independence in 1962.

The conflict left deep scars on the French psyche, especially for the country's one and a half million veteran.

In a new episode of Veterans Al Jazeera meets some of those who served in Algeria and finds out how they still regard the conflict with bitterness, shame and anger more than 40 years on.
