Todd Wood Equipment...
This saw automatically separates the wood from the stack, counts out nine pieces and cuts them at the same time. This is a PLC controlled saw, the jobs are programmed in the programmable logic controller.

notice that it doesn't make a cut at the end, just pushes the stack in with the rest. i know from experience that some of those boards will be too short

@fitch0007 Thanks for your comment fitch. We have carefully calibrated the coefficient of friction and deceleration rate in order to guarantee that the last piece is within tolerance. However, if the last piece MUST be cut due to cracking or angle, then a saw with a different clamping arrangement can be built. In our world its all about being adaptive to the customer's needs.

Im wondering, what is the mechanism of moving-saw. Is it pneumatic, hydraulic or maybe spur gear with rack?

@PeRcpiskot - this is a servo mechanism controlling the length of cut.
We design and build saw feeds to improve efficiency and safety.
It is very robust and consistent.
