The world has always been the way the world is. It is no different now then it was at the time of the Revolution.
The Founding Fathers, 'most of them', decided The United States would be different, that we would 'mostly' be a society of the self-reliant.
What was the result? The most successful civilization in ALL of human history!! There were no better financed nations!!
A weak govt = free society, strong govt = totalitarian state. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Judging by the vast majority of opinion from economists, that whole business was necessary to prevent a deflationary depression, a doomsday scenario. That will be debated.
Nobody likes taxes, if the US existed in a vacuum where we could all be radically self reliant with a weak central gov't that works, but thats fantasy.
We exist in a world of competing entities, were we to be this weak stick gov't, its naive to believe better financed nations wouldn't take our shit.

No we shouldn't cut income taxes on the rich. We should end income taxes all together for EVERYBODY. The only people who gain from income taxes, are POLITICIANS!!, and their special interests.

Sooner or later you need to have productive jobs instead of unproductive government jobs.
If the government had spent money building additional manufacturing plants for, say, the top 200 manufacturing companies in the US, that would have made more sense because those types of jobs can actually pay for themselves through production and sales unlike policing and road construction.

The Government just took money from working people and small businesses to give it to big banks. In other words they took from the poor give to the rich.
The income tax did not exist in this society until 1913. Since then govt and large corporations have gotten bigger and richer on the backs of hard working men and women like me AND 'perhaps' you.
I don't know you or your politics, but if you think, it's OK to have the fruits of your labor stolen from you, I'm not the one smoking crack.
