ترانسنستريا

هو إقليم يمتد ما بين نهر البوغ ونهر دنييستر (وهو اليوم داخل حدود أوكرانيا). وقد قام هتلر بتسليم هذا الإقليم إلى رومانيا لقاء اشتراكها في الحرب على الاتحاد السوفييتي. وتم في إقليم ترانسنستريا جمع يهود بيسارابيا وبوكوفينا وشمال مولدافيا والذين كانت رحّلتهم السلطات الرومانية بتعليمات من الألمان وبأمر مباشر صادر عن حاكم رومانيا يون أنتونسكو، حيث بدأت عملية الترحيل في سبتمبر أيلول من عام 1941 لتستمر على فترات متقطعة حتى خريف سنة 1942. وبلغ عدد المرحلين من اليهود إلى ترانسنستريا ما بين 150 و185 ألفا مات العديد منهم خلال عملية الترحيل العنيفة وتم حشد الباقين في غيتوات ومعسكرات لتشغيلهم في الأعمال القسرية. وفي مارس آذار 1944 بدأ تحرير ترانسنستريا على أيدي الجيش السوفييتي بعد أن هلك حوالي 90 ألفا من المرحّلين.
