  • Cool stuff as usual, just remember bc548's etc are only 50 VCE you should spec a better transistor for 125 volts.

  • @Robonza voltage pics ! i put a bd 137 it's work ! or you can made a joule thief , me i called it a BackEMF thief !

with a 2n3055 i made a B.EMF thief with 200 Volts ....next video but see my video with flyback on my channel !

  • A self-oscillating voltage booster. Can use nearly all the energy in a cell, even when other circuits consider the cell dead. The name suggests that the circuit is stealing energy or "Joules".

The circuit is self-oscillating (blocking oscillator) forming an unregulated V booster. No energy is created by the circuit. Output V is increased at the expense of higher current draw on the input. The amount of power entering the circuit is the same as that leaving, minus losses in the conversion.

  • name of music please?

  • @Robonza

The real problem is that the Q of the coil will not be high enough to develop a high voltage, high efficiency spike, so the lights will not light brightly. Instead, the coil should have a third winding of 25 to 30 times as many turns as the main collector winding. This feeds the LED string. It may be polarity sensitive, so try it both ways to see what's brightest.

  • who has square computers anymore?

  • Nice one, I so love the joule thief.

  • Good video :) like the music.
