Saint Thomas Aquinas Schola Cantorum sings Ave Maria composed by Anton Bruckner, at the Cathedral in Salamanca, Spain. The concert was the inaugural concert, in a series of concerts, to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the New Cathedral. The concert was performed in the Old Cathedral for a capacity audience.
STA Schola Cantorum is the Resident profession choir of Saint Thomas Aquinas Church, Diocese of Phoenix. Matthew S Sprinkle, director.

  • On sacred pieces such as this, I think its a crime to actually stick to a set tempo as this conductor did.

    Take some rhythmic liberties and slow down

  • This is not "sehr langsam" as Bruckner seems to have wanted. The apparent lack of dynamics is due to the recording. Otherwise very good, considering the small group.

  • Very good piece well conducted and not in the least bit fast - Very well done
