Now that Robert Bork has endorsed Mitt Romney, it's good to look back at what Bork said he was looking for in a candidate. "The object should be to get rid of Roe ..." he said at the Family Research Council Values Voter Summit on October 20. "It's good to stand on principle but it's also good to understand what your ultimate objective is. And sometimes it's necessary to use tactical discretion in order to to that."

  • A singularly brilliant jurist. At the time of his confirmation hearings, he had been on the federal bench for 5 1/2 years, and had written 106 decisions, NOT ONE OF WHICH was ever overturned by a higher court. And six of his dissents became the basis for majority opinions of the Supreme Court. Shame on the Democrats who unfairly maligned this worthy man.

  • The power hungry liberal degenerates tried to destroy him. They destroyed the day they had him borked. RIP USA

  • @hendodabest God Almighty do I agree with this sentiments. "Robert Bork's America is one in which blacks are segregated, women don't have the right to vote, etc., etc., etc." And Ted Kennedy's America is one in which women drown because their dates were too liquored up to drive.

  • Bork will go to heaven.Ten Kennedy is roasting in Hell.Smell that Pork.

  • @ jumbowhite: Social Liberal. The classic lie.

  • @ Hegemon54: Well your opinion holds no bearing, especially if you degrade a rational and intelligent man as a 'crazy'. He is only crazy relative to your ideological belief set that to many people are equally crazy. In the American justice system you do not allow outside politics to sway your judgment. Many judges on the Supreme Court do this regularly. Bork has one of the best track records of NOT doing this. This makes Bork almost by default the most qualified in recent memory.

  • No one doubts his intelligence, but that doesnt mean he has sound judgment. Id compare him to a mad scientist. And the court definitely did not need a crazy.

  • they destroyed civilization the day he was successfully borked

  • OMG that is so true. Just from reading one of his books I think that too.

  • Reading Bork's opinion's were a thing of beauty whether you agreed with them or not. He's truly amongst the intellectual elite, and deserved to be on the Court.
