Ok, so I have decided to train Bindi a sliding teeter, I figured she has more then enough speed and drive for it. So I am doing what kelsey did mixed with some other things. I am slamming the teeter board down when it starts to tip and shes on it. And some times I hold it and let her run to the end then drop it. She is getting better but after the camera died she actually doing better then she was in the video. Check my blog for more updates.

  • Wow, her teeter is smokin, I'm sure she will slide.

She is really slaming into her 2o2o, which isnt good, I'm not sure how to fix it other then do a quick release like at 1:20 that looked really good, she waited till it hit the ground, got her contacts and it was much easier on her sholders.

  • Yeah she has always done that, thats why I am doing running a-frame because of the big incline. but I don't know how I can fix it on the teeter, because I normally pause for a front cross there so idk how a quick release. Maybe if I teach her to go back into a sit. But tanks for the tip (:

  • haha I am glad too its working greatt

  • great work!

  • nice shirt and teeter too=)

  • the reward. I think its very possible to teach a quick release the dog just has to understand to ONLY release with an ok, other wise hold your 2o2o.

  • Actually she is slamming WAY more then any dog would ever do when jumping. The difference is when jumping you keep going, like when a person jumps off like a deck, if you jump off but keep running you dont feel the impact as much, but if you jump and then stick the landing thats a hard impact and might even hurt a little.

Well you would make sure the dog knew it can only break when told "ok" if they broke before that and it was like a running contact then you would just with hold

  • Teaching her to transfur the weight to her hind legs would be the best. Or teach her to like stay on the board till it hits the ground and then 2o2o idk if that would really help tho.

    Your welcome =)

  • woww. that teeter is awesomee :)

  • WOAH HER TEETER! o.0

  • I honestly don't think she's slamming her shoulders much more than she would be landing from a jump.

I, personally, don't believe in 'training' a quick release, because it then turns into a modified running contact, defeats the entire purpose of a 2o2o and the dog never waits for the 'okay'. I would only use a quick release when I really need it.

  • yea, awesome work! i loved it really much <3 you are great!
