It's remarkable how NHOP and his bass were only one...I can feel his gorgeous notes just by looking at his face while he plays! He expresses his feeling so well through the double bass!!! I just love it!!!

No wonder every jazz musician over the past 40 years wanted Niels to either be their regular bass player or fill in for their bass - the best, and that includes ray brown, who I adore.

I can't imagine having that much command over my instrument, must be an absoultey incredible feeling to be able to make music like this.
