  • I'll tell you why Wayne is so good; its because his music is honest, he shoots from the hip, and his arrangements are stripped down, simplified, and supported by great players like Eddie. The themes touch on universal human experiences, like a page out of Hank Williams Sr's songbooks, and the music moves you both emotionally and physically.Since hearing them and meeting them last August I have become the world's biggest Wayne the Train fan!

  • good call, Wayne and Hank 3 are both great !

  • loooove this guy hes amazing ,, iam glad to know that real music is alive a good representation of what real americana musik is ,ty wayne!!!

  • The Best of Wayne Hancock is an astonishing great recording. Even though I'm a jazz and brazilian guy who lived on Miles Davis for years, and who needs plenty of Tom Waits to survive...I put that CD on my car and played it for five days straight. Man....

  • @hal9000lovesdaisy

thats about the most spot on honest comment Ive ever read on the internet.

  • Smokin'. I LOVE this stuff! They inspire me to play better.

  • Shit, I love Wayne. Always have and always will.

Eddie is a master of that Telecaster, makes me happy when I hear him get after it.

  • Well, I know he's not fond of his dad, but "hate" is a strong word and he covers some of his songs.

Same for his grandad, he never met him, obviously, so hatred would be a pretty strong word and I think he more than recognizes the importance and relevance he had. And he pays tribute to him in every show and started the whole Reinstate Hank thing, so...

  • Wow, 7 months late with that reply, Johnny on the spot. Hank is pretty well known in his circle for his loathing of this family's heritage. Maybe you should talk to him yourself, like I did.

  • How awesome are those clarinet bits!!!

  • Hank III loves his grandad and doesn't "hate" his dad.

  • Eddie Biebel is such a good guitarist. I think I heard him do a Charlie Christian riff from Seven Come Eleven at one stage of the song. I love the way he fuses jazz and rockabilly in his playing.
