  • You need the engine starting crank. Hold down the valve with one hand and crank it up to about 100 RPMs with the other hand, then release the valve and it starts. Make sure you have lots of grease on the crank so it releases. Do you know anyone that has a Hercules 1 3/4 hp engine for sale? My Grandfather has one we use to have the best fun starting it every Sunday after church and watching it run. I live 35 miles south of Nashville TN.

  • started too rich, runs good though!

  • I have no knowledge of these engines --- however, I'm questioning the use of anti-freeze instead of of just water. Without researching the issue I would intuitively think that the slow evaporation of water is what cools the engine -- without evaporation the water will not dissipate near the amount of heat. The water only acts as a heat sink thus continue to climb in temperature until steaming commenced. - and at a dangerously high temperature.. 260 +??

    Just a friendly thought,

    BTW, Nice vid.

  • I think it's 1926

  • 319,000, 1924 or 1925 ! Very nice!

  • Runs nice, good way to tell how much fuel you have left. Phil
