UC Berkeley Police raided the solo Tree Sit by Sather Gate. Having grabbed his blankets and hammock, the police were certain they had successfully ended the protest. "He has his backpack and a couple of jugs of water, so we're hoping he gets uncomfortable enough to come down," is what UC Berkeley Assistant Police Chief Mitch Celaya told the press.

However that night "Fresh" revealed he had a second hammock and a sleeping bag in his backpack, to the surprise of the police.

Note the man in the suit within the metal barrier. He is trying to tell and gesture to the cops not to pursue up the ladder, reinforcing the claims of the crowd that it is dangerous. There is disagreement within the school on how to handle the protest.

The farce, while comical, did show that it is indeed difficult and unsafe to pursue the Tree Sitters.

Watching the failed raid is University Administrator and Barack Obama enthusiast Nathan Brostrom (67 Canyon Road, Berkeley CA).
