GM actually did a much smarter and more realistic approach by going with the cruize platform. YES! GM finally gets it! Don't produce an expensive concept car. Instead go with something you already have in existence and work with it up from there. Just like the prius. First gens weren't so geat. Now look at it. much better ride quality, increased cabin space and much more power while still maintaining 50+mpg. GM needs to do the same.
