Some presets from the Logan / Hohner String Melody Mk2 (1977-1980). For me, one of the best vintage string machines ever. Sorry Solina ;-)

Sorry for the bad sound quality. This is one of my demo first vids on YT. Check my other LSM vids with much better sound quality.

do I love these sounds of this song at 1:40

    where do they come from?

  • Sounds amazing for an instrument that is nearly as old as I am!

  • lush

  • I've never heard exactly what I am looking for. I need to sound EXACTLY like an orchestra's string section.Violins, Violas, Cellos,Bass, etc.

To date, nothing satisfies.Wakeman and Moraz did fine but it didn't sound EXACTLY like real stringed instruments. Does such a thing exist? I know I have heard "fake strings" that sounded like the real thing, I just can't remember when, who, with what or what they were using. If anyone knows anything, please reply. Do I have to settle? Tried running effects.

  • I really wanna get the G-Force Virtual String Machine...it'z got a whole buncha vintage stringmachine soundz all in one package. Their M-Tron virtual Mellotron, too, sigh, loveta get that.

  • I've never heard Yellow Magic Orchestra, hafta check them out. Never heard Kitaro either. I got Tomita's 'Planets' LP in Jan

'77 and his stringz totally blew me away.

Hey the Orchestron stringz were pretty cool, too...middle section of "Sound Chaser" by Yes. Anyway, I'm a sucka fer vintage stringmachines. I think the finest use of stringsynth in a popsong is still Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" (with maybe the Cure's New Order cop, er, one of many haha "Just Like Heaven"

    2nd)
