Dedicated to my little brother, Clyde "Butchie" who wen to God on December 7, 2009. He loved music and had a deep love for Brazilian music. Your lovely face...1:36-1:41, your beautiful soul, your wit and humor and your good nature are missed more than words can express. Be at rest, oh kind soul, the world is much diminished by your leaving us alone in it.
Brazilian Songbird Gal Costa sings her heart out on Roberto and Erasmo Carlos' Sua Estupidez. I can't believe my version is the only one out here!!!

My love,
My love,
you have to believe in me
No one can thus destroy
a great love
Don't lend an ear to the spitefulness of others
and believe
Your stupidity doesn't let you see
that I love you.

My love,
My love,
use your intelligence at least once
how many idiots live alone
without having love?
And you will end up alone too,
and I know why.
Your stupidity doesn't let you see
that I love you.

How many times I tried to say
that in the world there is no more room
for those who come to decisions without thinking

Count at least to three
if necessary
count again
But think again
my love, my love, my love
I love you

My love, my love
your lack of understanding is too much
I never saw anyone so incapable
of understanding
that my love is greater than everything
that exists
but your stupidity doesn't let you see
that I love you

  • Não dê ouvidos à maldade alheia e creia: Sua estupidez não lhe deixa ver que eu te amo!

  • @AlcemirGomes :-D a musica fala em magia!

  • i'm intrigued by this music (not yours, btw, per se? tho i C U r also a songwriter/artiste?) & your video style, featured on your site; i don't speak Spanish, so i don't understand a lot of this, but i do have some understanding of this side of Latin music (sort of rooted in the poetry of Federico Garcia Lorca, right?) & Portuguese 'Fado' (= love Madredeus btw!).

THANX 4 yr v. kind comments in response 2 my posting on Makana's page...that was a v. nice thing 2 say about me...'Mahalo'!

  • @EveKauai Did I miss your post? I can't imagine why I'd not have replied to thank you for your comments. This music is wonderful, like so much of the music of Brazil. If you have not yet delved into it, Eve, I highly recommend that you do. I posted another video I hope you viewed already. It is my all-time favorite song. The lyrics are full of a melancholy that would touch your heart while at the same time leave you breathless with the recognition of an all-too-universal emotion. Cheers!!
