This song is an ultimate anthem for those who belong in Generation Y but are trying to pursue meaning in this dysfunctional world. Think about it, we have been told in school and elsewhere our whole lives that we are "special" and "individuals" when at this time, more and more people are feeling isolated and depressed. Instead of wanting a life as a sole individual in the marketplace, Pecknold wishes to be a part of something greater than himself, full of passion and purpose.
