Based on a one-person show written and performed by Kinga Suto, the d-monster chronicles Kinga's years as a Hollywood development executive. The show was written into a screenplay and chosen by the AFI Directing Workshop for Women to be made into a short film. The d-monster will be featured at the Cannes Film Festival and will premiere in Los Angeles on June 18th.
Part live action, part animation, the film is a collaboration between Kinga and her accomplished sister, Erengo Suto, who provides animation for "King of the Hill." The film stars Catherine Reitman (Knocked Up, I Love You Man, My Super Ex-Girlfriend) and Abby Wathen (Third Watch, Young & the Restless). Music supervisor Michelle Crispin placed many talented independent artists in the film, including: Willy Porter, Joey Ryan, Caitlin Moe, Alexandra Monir, Bernadette Moley, and Heather Holley.
