Excerpt of Vesselina Kasarova (Calbo), Barbara Lavarian (Anna), & Ramon Vargas (Erisse) singing the terzetto 'In questi estremi instanti' from Rossini's rarely staged 'Maometto II' (aka 'Siege of Corinthe').

If you enjoy what you hear, a full recording of this number can be found on the RCA Red Seal CDs

Bel canto don't come anymore enchantingly sung than this!

  • They're incredible. *_*

Btw, what are these screenshots from, where VK is in the hall with columns?

  • Hiya Arashi! Those are from the same documentary with that video clips of her as Romeo in Paris, matie. The earlier part of the program sees her rehearsing Idomeneo with Jon Miller and Deon Van Der Walt. The room with mirror and columns is the entrance hall to Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. :o)

  • Now I can die happy. *thud*

  • Hey, you can't drop just yet! We haven't heard Frau Kasarova as Carmen yet. You've gotta wait at least 4 more months! ;o)

  • Oh, what beautiful singing!!! A wonderful blending of three gorgeous, well matched voices. Thanks so much for posting.

  • My pleasure! :o) Bel canto is still alive and well with Kasarova, Vargas, and their colleagues, ay?

    Happy New Year!

  • Bellissimo !

  • Beautiful melody indeed, I prefer for instance the pappataci trio.

  • This is the very best Rossini trio ever...=) I love this piece, but this rendition is particulary well-executed...! Wanna sing it some time...

  • Thanks!

  • SDCmorg -- Happy New Year to you too, and thanks always for your great service to music. Indeed, Kasarova, Vargas and other fine bel canto artists along with true advocates like you will keep this art alive for everyone to enjoy. If it's not too much of a bother, could you please post one of my favorites from these marvelous artists - the duet "M'abbraccia,Argirio" from Rossini's TANCREDI with K & V. Will appreciate very much this favor at your convenience.
