Your way of doing it is way more effective than the way I used to do it - once I slowed the video down and enlarged it so I could see what tools you used (and turn the noise off) I was surprised that I never thought of doing it this way - that's why it is the high mark. You confused me though when you just mirrored the left eye over though - it seemed easier just to work on it separately. This way they guy has a slight cross-eyed look in the end... ;)
