wowzerz. so clean and precise.
gosh do I wish ballet would go back to this, because this is what it is about, not flashy extentions and "tricks" of today.

Agree. When Mr. B died the Dance world lost its aim, becoming more acrobatic and circus like than artistic. Who can brush her teeth, holding her brush in her shoe, while doing a ponche. Who can slap their ears in grand jete? All ridiculous designations for a true artistic dancer. Mr. B sought dancers who could create beauty. He liked some athleticsm but if you couldn't create beauty in movement he wasn't interested. This is lost on so many people, critics, schools, and yes even companies.

Don't apologize for your English. The rabbit comparison was very... eloquent!

I love your description of her dancing. I think you're right on. She was such a beautiful ballerina!!

her father was dutch and she was born in brussels. she spent her career dancing in the US with ABT though. (also a few early years in canada and with the joffrey when they were still in nyc.)
one of the great ballerinas of the late 20th century. her dancing is so creamy and light, with clean technique.

Isn´t Raymonda Variations of Balanchine ?

Balanchine's version was call Raymonda Variations or Cortège Hongrois which was taken mostly from the last act of Raymonda. For Raymonda Variations, Balanchine drew on music from the first act.
