Suggestibility Fun (Intensified Imagination Games) . . . in this video, Brian David Phillips (羅狼仁), hypnotist (催眠), demonstrates the "Arm Catalepsy" or "Arm Lock" effect converted into an hypnotic induction.

This video is from a series of short "intensified imagination and focused concentration games" that serve as "suggestibility tests." These are number of "speed hypnosis" effects. This sequence includes genuine hypnosis filmed on Jan. 10, 2008, with a volunteer trance partner.

There is no explanation in the video as this is straightforward demonstration.

This "suggestibility fun" excerpt is just one of the hypnotic effects and techniques that are taught in courses, workshops, and seminars presented by Brian David Phillips. Feel free to check for more information on upcoming events on the webpages at http://www.BrianDavidPhillips.com regarding courses or events such as Hypnoticon, Trance Walkabouts, or other events and shows.

  • Make sure you have done a pretalk and engaged the person's attention. You might consider taking a more thorough training either live or via video (see the DVDs on my webpage which offer more explanation and demonstration). Good luck.

  • is that the best way to induct somebody? put them in a steel bar arm catalepsy and then do a shock induction by slapping on their arm saying sleep and then deepen the sleep into hypnosis?

  • No, it is not the "best" way, it is merely one of thousands of ways. I was demonstrating conversion of a variety of suggestibility effects into hypnosis and so this video is part of that series. However, this is an effective way - albeit, the hypnotist needs to be aware of keeping the pressure light (it looks like the slap or movements are jerks and hard but they are not).

  • the woman is smiling... a bit staged, I think...

  • You don't have to have a stone face to be hypnotized. She's smiling because we were having a lot of fun demonstrating a number of suggestibility effects in that session. The hypnosis and suggestibility effects are genuine.
