I was invited to be in the 1st Pittsburgh Visionary Arts Festival, organized by Alberto Almarza, way back when he conceived of it around August of 2008. I had just started HiTEC (Histrionic Thought Experiment Cooperative) shortly before & was mainly interested in presenting that - IF I cd manage to keep it going for another yr. &, so, the VAF rolled around & I installed 6 TVs in my assigned booth & other relevant props & logos & proceeded to play all 54 of the documentaries that I'd made about HiTEC so far. I had to do this 3 at a time, 2 TVs per each one, to accomplish this over the 3 days of the festival. We played each day at dusk under a large tent usually used to shelter people eating in the park where the VAF took place. The VAF marked the release of the HiTEC CD/book/DVD published by Encyclopedia Destructica. As such, this movie is the 1st of 3 from the VAF & shows a snippet of the making of the books, plus the day of setting up, plus the 1st day, plus the first HiTEC VAF UNCERT. This, of course, is highly abridged & meant to more impressionistic than didactic. - September 9, 2009 notes from tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE

  • The park schematic establishing shots are brilliant. Also Tony's closeup on Ben Opie's sneaker during "Stomping and Clapping" excellent editing as always, tENT
