  • hi professor...

thats a really nice sound you got.

how do u get that train sound??

what kind of Substitutions do u use?

i been working on trying to got that sound but i cant crack the code....please help...ur a realy great guitarist...thanks

  • sorry for the late reply. i have to be honest and tell you that i'm only thinking about a standard minor blues and am conscious of the "right notes" and which ones might be considered "wrong." after that I use my ears really. if you can get your hands on scott henderson's "improvisation" video (it's an old one), it'll change your life. it did mine.

  • Great playing!! what thumb pick are you using? I've been willing to change my picking technique I saw craig wagner playing at a jazz camp but i guess I'm too afraid.

Also because I don't have anybody to teach me a proper technique... do you know any material that could help me out?

    Thanks! Love your guitar!

  • i'm using a Fred Kelly thumb pick. search it on the internet. it's a Bumblebee xheavy!

  • love your guitar.

    prs custom 22?

  • It's a McCarty Hollowbody 10-top! Love it. I just crowned/dressed the frets (myself..yes I do that too) and its even more lovely than ever before!

  • is this a 'lesson' in the sense that you've schooled our asses? if so, you have done a great job :)

  • nice job man!

  • Thanks very much John!! I've always enjoyed your playing as well. Nothing like playing to a play-a-long?!?! Based in Miami.

  • Hi,

You sound very nice, thoughtful and creative. Where are you based?

    Regards,

    John Stowell
