Backbeat - Twist and Shout

In Feb-Mar 2010, The Citizens Theatre and Karl Sydow present the world premiere of a stage version of Backbeat, one of the UKs best-loved cult films. Re-imagined for the stage by original writer and director of the 1994 film, Iain Softley.

This clip shows an early practice outing for the band at the 606 club in London.

The Backbeat band: Daniel Healy (Paul McCartney), Alex Robertson (Stuart Sutcliffe), Andrew Knott (John Lennon), Oliver Bennett (Pete Best) and Jamie Blackley (George Harrison).

It's the band from the original stage version of Backbeat (from 2010)...practising before the show opened.

The cast are mainly London based. Daniel (playing Paul) is Scottish. They're all currently rehearsing in London, before moving en masse up to Glasgow a couple of weeks before opening. The show opens on 9 Feb at the Citizens Theatre and runs for 4 weeks.

Before this song they had rehearsed for 10 minutes. Their second song took even longer. Oh Yeah! (Oh Yeah) BeatleyBoy person seems to know a lot about sucking. Ahem! Must be the trousers!
