... The '85 Royals may not have had a great record, but they had a tremendous team that year and simply outplayed the Blue Jays in the ALCS. Toronto had a wonderful team in their own right, though. It was a terrific series.
@jrsjr81 Agreed. I found it rather irritating that the 2011 Cardinals kept being compared with 1964. In 1964, they won the PENNANT on the last day of the season. In 2011, they won the best record of a non first place team on the last day of the season. Not quite the same.
@jrsjr81: 1985 was also the first year that the LCS were played as a best-of-seven. The Jays led the Royals 3-1, which would have been enough to clinch a spot in the World Series up to and including 1984.
Despite losing to George Brett and the Royals in the ALCS, the '85 Jays may have been the best team Toronto ever fielded. Even the 1992 and 1993 World Series Champions couldn't equal the 99-62 record by the 1985 Jays.
they should do a new 1 shaun marcum juggling, cito gaston doing the faces adam lind hitting and sliding, and ,jose bautista with his finger in the air pointing up
