In Phase 2 of a stranger-related sexual assault, the assailant will attempt to overwhelm and subdue his target to then isolate her from the crowd or get her to the ground. In the Women Empowered DVD program, we teach proven defense strategies for all the most common Phase 2 attack strategies such as a bear hugs, choke holds, hair grabs or wrist grabs. In this new sample video from disc 1 of the DVD program, we explore one of the five variations of the Gracie Wrist Releases featured in the Women Empowered program. Upon viewing this sample clip, get a partner and give it a try. Pay particularly close attention to important role proper base and body positioning plays in giving you the greatest amount of leverage during the escape.

Women Empowered is the official Gracie self-defense program for women. Originally, this 15-lesson program could only be accessed at the Gracie Academy in Torrance, CA. But now, the entire program is available in one 6-disc DVD collection, so you can complete the course from the comfort of your own home under the direct guidance of Ryron, Rener, and Ralek Gracie, along with special guest instructors Sage Gracie and Eve Torres!

The complete DVD program features 10 Core Lessons and 5 Advanced Lessons, as well as well as several "Empowerment Talks", designed to increase awareness and reduce your likelihood of being assaulted.

Although there are many women's self-defense programs on the market, the Women Empowered program is unique in that all the techniques have been proven effective for all women, regardless of age or fitness level, and it is the only self-defense program that effectively addresses what to do at all Four Phases of a sexual assault. To read more about the Four Phases, please visit http://www.GracieWomenEmpowered.com.

THE PARTNERSHIP
There are several well-established national outreach programs that are committed to preventing rape and abuse towards women. The Gracie Academy has partnered with these organizations to ensure that the Women Empowered program is made available to those who need it most. For every 10 Women Empowered DVD collections sold, we will donate one Women Empowered DVD collection to a battered women's shelter or rape prevention organization.

The DVDs are region free and are designed to be compatible with all DVD players.

If you're a woman, and you've EVER thought about learning self-defense, this program is for you. If you're a man, and you've always wanted your wife/girlfriend/sister/daughter/mother to learn self-defense, but she's too intimidated to take classes at the local martial arts club, this program is for her. 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

  • Hey so what happens when you have some one that uses an overhand grip... Like when I play and teach my wife I always use an overhand grip and I grab and turn to move toward my destination... kinda like we do in Krav. Is there a way to incorperate this when an attacker uses an overhand grip no matter if it is two on one or one on one?

  • @wheeler90 The inverted grip is covered in variations 4 and 5 of this lesson. And yes, we cover, 1 on 1, 2 on 1, and 2 on 2 variations of the inverted grip.

  • NO ONE will grap you and pull you using 1 arm EVER! If you want to teach things that really work? "keep it real"

  • @dobberdoss Read the title of the video "VARIATION 1 of 5" and if you had to bet your life on it, do you think that the Two-handed wrist grab is covered in any of the remaining four variations?? If you answered yes, you're right. Obviously we need to start somewhere and the 1 on 1 wrist grab is a great place to introduce basic principles of leverage. Thanks for caring.

  • damn bee.... if your confident with your program you should have open comments and not censor them ... with an open forum some one can come up with a better idea if you really want peolple to learn and not just market your idea ..

  • @sonnych69 Censorship of the comments on this video has nothing to do with confidence in the program. We are 100% confident in the scope and effectiveness of the program as will be anyone who takes the time to view all 15 lessons. The only reason we had to censor comments is because of the amount of ignorant people out there are making crude remarks towards the women in the video. We're trying to fight the right fight without allowing ignorant people to mess it up.

  • Note to self: If I were to ever in life see Eve Torres out and about... appproach Eve Torres with caution or she will kick my ass up and down the block LMFAO

  • Fantastic video! I'm a teacher and blue belt. My middle school has found out I do BJJ and now has me teaching a women's self-defense class for the teachers! this and the other videos you've posted are really helpful!

  • Rener: "Why am I so excited about this?"

I love Rener's excitement about sharing the power and beauty of Gracie Jiu-jitsu with others. Ryron definitely had the perfect response to when Rener said that. Ryron and Rener complement each other so well! They're the best instructors!!

  • "It worked! Gracie Jiu-jitsu all the way!" Hahahah

  • :)

  • Or you could just use Poon Sao..... Excellent technique though- I honestly never thought about trying that. But I'm an Aikido guy- there are plenty of things to do when my wrist is grabbed.

  • Jiu Jitsu isn't just combat technique, it's a way of life.

  • Giving away more DVD material? Cool!
